Survivors at the summit I hope this newsletter finds you in good health and high spirits.
Today, I am thrilled to share with you the inspiring journey and unforgettable experience I had during my recent hike. With every step we took, we raised awareness and support for individuals affected by cancer—those we have lost, those currently living with the disease, and those who have emerged as survivors. Together, we accomplished something extraordinary.
Thanks to the generosity of my friends, I managed to raise an astounding $5000 in donations! These funds will contribute to holistic treatments at Survivor Wellness, an extraordinary organization that has been making a significant impact in the lives of cancer survivors.
For the past three years, I have had the privilege of serving on the board, witnessing firsthand the beauty and transformative power of this organization.
Survivor Wellness stands as a beacon of hope and support, dedicated to the well-being and empowerment of cancer survivors.
Their mission is to provide a holistic approach to survivorship, focusing on physical, emotional, and mental wellness. We believe in the power of community, providing a safe and compassionate space for survivors to connect, share, and find solace in the understanding of others who have walked a similar path. The hike itself was a true test of physical and mental endurance.
We faced a grueling ascent, conquering a challenging 3000 feet over a 3-mile stretch. The path demanded our unwavering determination, reminding us of the resilience and strength demonstrated by those affected by cancer every day. As we pushed ourselves beyond our limits, we became intimately connected to the struggles and triumphs of those on this arduous journey.
Upon reaching the summit, we experienced a profound moment of reflection and unity. A celebration of life ceremony awaited us, where we gathered to honor the memory of those we have lost and to recognize the bravery and resilience of cancer survivors. The atmosphere was filled with both tears and smiles—a beautiful blend of emotions that spoke volumes about the impact cancer has on our lives. During the ceremony, the soul-stirring melodies of a harpist echoed through the mountain air, weaving a tapestry of poignant emotions.
The sound of drums pulsated, symbolizing the resilience and courage that reverberate within every individual affected by cancer. Together, we found solace, strength, and a renewed sense of purpose.
Our immune system serves as a remarkable defense mechanism, tirelessly working to protect our bodies from harmful invaders such as viruses, bacteria, and abnormal cells. Its role in cancer prevention is particularly noteworthy. Both of my wonderful parents died of cancer which is one of the reason why I am so passionate about immune health and why I founded Scandilabs and got on the board of Survivor wellness. Scandilabs.io
This hike was not just a physical challenge; it was a collective act of solidarity. We stood together, carrying the weight of the cause on our shoulders and the hope in our hearts. I extend my deepest gratitude to each and every one of you who joined us on this journey, whether as a hiker, a supporter, or a donor.
It is through your selflessness and dedication that we were able to make a tangible difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. Our collective impact will continue to reverberate, offering hope and support to individuals and families who need it most. As we move forward, let us carry the memories of this transformative experience with us. Let us remember the resilience of those we have lost, the courage of those still fighting, and the strength of those who have triumphed. Together, we can foster a world where cancer is conquered, lives are saved, and hope shines bright.
In Health and Strength Alexandra and the Scandilabs team.
